How To Ace Your University Exams?
Want to crack your university exams and secure a good GPA? You have arrived at the right place. Also, why are you reading this 24 hours before your exams?
The pattern I will be talking about in the article is my observation and experience from 8 semesters at my university, multiple unit tests and short quizzes.
There are some key points you need to take care of while preparing for your examinations. Most probably, your college also has a credit system. It is fundamental to give importance based on the number of credits they are.
The next thing you need to keep in mind is that every lesson (chapter) of a particular subject has some weightage assigned to it. You can check it out in the course policy document on that subject. Do not focus on just some chapters, instead, try covering as many things as you can even if they are not in-depth.
“A Jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one”
Another point to keep in mind is to look at previous year's question papers. I was astonished watching the number of questions that were just repeated from the previous 3 years papers. Looking at the previous papers would also make you aware of the difficulty level as well as the pattern and the marking distribution.
Talk to your seniors if they are available. They have some insights that you don't. They will guide you on what to focus on based on the given amount of time left with you.
Finally, a controversial tip but I am going to say it anyways. WRITE ANYTHING!!!
The examiner does not want to fail you and check your paper once again. Do not leave the question blank even if you don't know the correct answer to the question. If a code is asked and you do not remember, it is fine, write a related theory. If a detailed answer is asked that you are not sure about, write something you know about the related topics.
A Bonus Tip: Draw as many figures and diagrams as you can. A human likes visual representation. It also gives an examiner the feeling that you know thoroughly about the topic.
Do not panic! You have already given hundreds of these exams in your life. You will ace this one too. Share it with your friends if found it useful.
Peace out!
